This week's Good Morning Girls' Study has totally rocked my world. There is so much to be said about keeping our intentions on the WHY and the HOW of what we do, especially as Christians. God's Word in My Heart- Book Review

As many of you know, I have made it my goal this year to hide God's Word in my heart. I did this because it is so important for me to know the Word of God, and to be able to apply it to all areas of my life. I also think that is important to model scripture memory for my children. Our church does the Awana program, and so it seemed like my kiddos always had a one up on me on Bible memory. That's when I found The Purposeful Mom. This blog has been such an encouragement to me as a new mom, and so when I saw that Jenn was going to provide an ebook with ideas on how to help my kids memorize scripture- I JUMPED on it! The name of this book is God's Word in My Heart: A Scripture Learning Guide with Memory Verses!

Before I even got the book, I was impressed. The book comes in several versions ( KJV, NASBand a variety version that has ESV, NIV 1984, NASB and NKJV). Being a good, old fashioned KJV girl, I was so blessed to see that she included this as an option, although I will admit that I have used the NKJV verses for their verbiage with my kiddos. The book has awesome ideas for toddlers through elementary age kids. There are printables that go along with it that make it great for upper teenagers and even adults!

My kids have loved doing the activities that are in the book. There are coloring pages links that help youngesters to continue to connect their Bible verse in a fun way. There are ideas for incorporating praise songs- which I love since my youngest is a music girl! A lot of the ideas are great if you work with a homeschooling group, or in a Christian School setting. Since I have just started working in a Christian School teaching Kindergarten, I plan on using some of these ideas in the classroom to help the children connect the Word of God to their lives. I find it very important to do it there since many of my students don't go to church since they go to Christian School. 

Another thing that I loved, and that I will be using in my Kindergarten classroom, and with my Five Year Old, is that there is a list of ABC verses. Every alphabet letter has a verse- so as you teach letters, you can also teach the most important words they will ever need to know!

There is nothing more important you will ever teach a child then the Word of God. This is a great tool. I read it and used it and got great results from all three of my children. More is Coming!!

Have you ever felt like, right when you get things figured out, life likes to throw you an interuption? Well, I have felt that way lately. I just wanted to let everyone know, and to be EXPECTING, some blog post in the coming days. A back up blog post on Luke chapter 2 (via video!). A video blog on what God taught me through the verses I memorized the past two weeks, and where the next two verses are headed. This weeks video blog on Luke chapter 3. My 13 in 13 list. Lots of things are coming. I just wanted to let you all know I am still here, still with it, and looking forward to all that God IS doing.... just continue to pray that as God moves and shows the next step, we will be faithful to follow and do as HE leads.
